Personal:

I have been married for almost 20 years.... Dave is the only man that I think that was placed specifically on this earth to tolerate my crazy ways.

I have 2 boys - ages 9 yrs. and 18 yrs. old (senior in high schoold and known on this blog as "Ironman"- they are fabulous kids - I am very blessed!!!

I am an RN and have been for around 12 years.

I lift weights regularly and work abs 2-3 days a week.  I enjoy the beach, like to sing, and love to run!!!

Quit smoking about 4 years ago and couldn't run 1/4 way around a track when I began... started with elliptical and then got into running more seriously.  Cranked up the mileage and intensity when I began training for my first 1/2 marathon.  The rest is history.... or history in the making!?

Nice and easy slow run today.... was very tired and legs felt like weights, but I wanted that 48 mile marker this week, so it is done.  Tomorrow?  NO running for me... my day off.  Next week, hoping to feel more energetic.

Thanks Tyler!!! Now that I have the mileage... where's the speed at??? It's getting a bit better... boy - sure takes a long time for the body to adapt!!!

I would just get up and do it your pajamas and then climb back in bed. You shouldn't even break a sweat!

For me speed came with increase miles. Last year I had some high weeks with a lot of speed work and I think that I wore my body out. I plan on running 50 mile weeks with more speed sessions. I also think that speed comes with experience and trying different things on race day. You are doing great, just stay healthy and don't let running turn into a job, keep it fresh and exciting.

Great advice Tyler!! Having my coffee now and then I'll go run in my PJ's - LOL!!! Feeling pretty good this morning. Slept really well last night and the massage I had yesterday has done wonders for my upper back... legs? Well...they need today for sure. 1 mile I can do though!!
